Boom goes the dynamite!  Ladies and Gentlemen, Pirates and Ninjas, Pimps and Hoes, Jocks, Cheerios and Glee geeks, the fall semester has officially kicked off!

Lush Rush and Pyromania begin Monday baby, and you’re invited to the best week you’ll ever partially remember!  Awesome parties, dirt-cheap specials, and awesome food and drinks to keep your newly Beijing acclimated bodies pumped and partying all week long!

Pyro phones are working again!

After a couple brutal days, the phones are back in working order again, and just in time with Thursday’s delivery special of a large pizza at the price of a medium. So if you’ve been hankering for an awesome Pyro pizza, hot and straight to your door, we can’t wait to make that happen for you!

Xin Nian Kuai Le! Gong Xi Fa Cai! (Hong Bao Na Lai!?) 新年快乐！恭喜发财 (红包拿来!?) Haha… Where’s my red envelope ninjas?!

So here we are in another year of the bunny. Hope you had your dumplings, lit off some of those firecrackers, and maybe did a paper cutting or two. We’ve had 9 days of fireworks, 4185027 quadrillion tons of fireworks an hour set off on average from what it sounds like outside my window, and I’m pretty sure that at current rates, China will have completely exhausted the worlds supply of gunpowder by 2027.

Lush and Pyro stayed open for reduced hours last week, so when people got those nasty midnight munchies, the popular delivery food of choice seems to have been regretful drunken phone calls made to McDonald’s at 2am, like so many drunk dial mistakes to that ex you keep telling everyone you were completely over.

It’s ok. Things are back to normal. Lush and Pyro are back to normal hours, and we’re all back to the grindstone, working on new awesome ways to party in style. Keep an eye out for Lush Rush news, the first Latin party of the year, and on Mr. Hefner’s birthday, a tantalizing Playboy bunny party to warm you up in April… and that’s just the next month or so.

Pub Quiz Recap (Nov. 17th 2010)

Winners – In an all too familiar trend, Southbound Pachyderm comes back from their less than normal showing last week to take number 1 with a bullet again this week. Kidneys Come and Go had their best performance in a month to take second, and the weekly name-changers who this week went with Gandhi’s Militia battled hard to finish out the top 3.

Sample Question – (Women’s Studies) What are the only 2 remaining countries that specifically deny the right to vote to women? (Must specifically deny all women, it doesn’t count if both men and women are restricted or fully denied the vote)

Leaderboard – Southbound, with this win will all but seal their first place win for this semester’s leaderboard, which would be in danger of a tie if, and only if, they no-show next week, or score the lowest score possible and Pink on the Brink gets first place. That being said, anything can and often does, happen. Kidneys Come and Go are guaranteed third at this point, for what has been one heck of a season for the Lush Pub Quiz Leaderboard. Big thanks to all the teams who came week after week, even if you aren’t in the top 10, and an extra special thanks to Southbound, Pink on the Brink, Kidneys Come and Go, Nuns with Guns, and Quiz in my Pants, all of whom missed 1 or fewer quizzes, and in case its not obvious, the top three teams didn’t miss a single week of the action.

You guys rock!

Winners – Southbound Pachyderm comes back from a couple of weeks of losses to take back first place and strut their dominance over the competition once again! In second, Pink on the Brink proves they are still a force to be reckoned with, and Quiz in my Pants leads the rest of the pack with third place.

Sample Question – Despite the fact that the character from the comics comes from Germany, Poland, and eventually Israel, the movie version of this classic bad guy is portrayed, expertly I might add, by an Englishman. Who played Magneto in the X-Men films?
