Try these awesome new beers at Lush!
Weihenstephaner (5.4% ABV) The reviewers over at beeradvocate.com tend to agree that this brew has a distinct flavor of banana, citrus, cloves, and spice, and gets an A – A+ rating. Considered by the reviewers there to be an excellent Hefeweizen. Try it out and let us know what you think! 35rmb
Bitburger (4.8% ABV) The reviewers over at beeradvocate.com rate this an overall B, and say it matches what they expect of a German Pilsner beer. Said to have a light sweetness and floral character, with a touch of citrus and a hops bite. Again, you be the judge! 25rmb

Winners - In an unprecedented 3 way tie for first place (down to a half point), Kidneys Come and Go, Southbound Pachyderm, and Pink on the Brink battled it out – Tsingdao Chugging style for the bottle of Jack, the Pitcher of cocktails, and the bucket of Tsingdaos for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively. In a stellar performance, Southbound slaughtered the other two competitors, who were so close they had to chug again to decide second and third, to which Pink annihilated Kidneys in the rematch. So after 5 beers and lots of cheering, Southbound got lots of Jack, Pink got their pitcher, and Kidneys enjoyed a bucket of beers to wash down the bitter taste of defeat.
Sample Question – (Movie Triples) Who were the three actors to play Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity?
Last Week’s Answer – Julia Gillard
Leaderboard – I need to update the full leaderboard. I’ll get on that this week.. Southbound is definitely holding on to first place, Kidneys should still be in second, and 3rd and 4th I’m not sure about at the moment, but I’ll replace this with the accurate count before the next quiz.
Awesome Quiz night! I know there were a couple of verbal snafus, but hey, 4 and a half years, 200+ quizzes, and more than 10,000 questions, you’re bound to screw the pooch a couple of times. But you guys were awesome as always, and some super close scores! You guys are amazing!

The Lush Pub Quiz has consistently been rated as amongst the harder quizzes in Beijing, which puzzles me because you guys all score so damn well week in and week out. Are the questions really that hard or are the other quizzes in the city just asking questions like, “what is the capital of China?” I can totally appreciate the fact that asking about an epithalamium, is probably a bit insane, but it was fun to see the answers you wrote in anyhow. I think I saw one team write that an epithalamium was the device by which they hoped I met my fate. Nice one guys!
Also, Eyad is back! If you dropped down to Pyro, I’m sure you saw him sharing the decks with Juan, as they rocked the 555 party down at Pyro, and kept people dancing and drinkin into the early hours. If not, next week you have another chance!
