Lush Rush Spring 2011 has begun!
Boom goes the dynamite! Ladies and Gentlemen, Pirates and Ninjas, Pimps and Hoes, Jocks and Cheerios and Glee geeks, the spring semester has officially kicked off!
Lush Rush and Pyromania have begun baby, and you’re invited to the best week you’ll ever partially remember! Awesome parties, dirt-cheap specials, and awesome food and drinks all week to keep your newly Beijing acclimated bodies pumped and partying all week long!
Lush Specials:
- Selected Lush Cocktails (30rmb) – half off during happy hour!
- 40rmb buckets of Tsingdao (7 bottles)!
- 20rmb burgers, chicken burgers, and teriyaki chicken burgers, 2-4pm and 2-4am!

So here we are in another year of the bunny. Hope you had your dumplings, lit off some of those firecrackers, and maybe did a paper cutting or two. We’ve had 9 days of fireworks, 4185027 quadrillion tons of fireworks an hour set off on average from what it sounds like outside my window, and I’m pretty sure that at current rates, China will have completely exhausted the worlds supply of gunpowder by 2027.
Lush and Pyro stayed open for reduced hours last week, so when people got those nasty midnight munchies, the popular delivery food of choice seems to have been regretful drunken phone calls made to McDonald’s at 2am, like so many drunk dial mistakes to that ex you keep telling everyone you were completely over.
It’s ok. Things are back to normal. Lush and Pyro are back to normal hours, and we’re all back to the grindstone, working on new awesome ways to party in style. Keep an eye out for Lush Rush news, the first Latin party of the year, and on Mr. Hefner’s birthday, a tantalizing Playboy bunny party to warm you up in April… and that’s just the next month or so.

Pub Quiz Recap (Sept. 23rd 2010)
Categories – Movie Villains, World Leaders, Geography and World Questions, Miscellaneous and Useless Trivia, and music!
Winners - Southbound Pachyderm crushed the competition and celebrated their victory, with glasses full of delicious Jack Daniels and coke. Behind them, Nuns with Guns finally climbed higher than 4th place, and rounding out third, Kidneys Come and Go, holding on to a top spot, but sliding to 2nd place overall in the leaderboard.

Leaderboard - Southbound Pachyderm steals into first position, with Kidneys Come and Go holding strong in second place. Finally, to round out the top 3, with their good performance this week, Nuns with Guns takes over 3rd place.
The Lush Pub Quiz has consistently been rated as amongst the harder quizzes in Beijing, which puzzles me because you guys all score so damn well week in and week out. Are the questions really that hard or are the other quizzes in the city just asking questions like, “what is the capital of China?” I can totally appreciate the fact that asking about an epithalamium, is probably a bit insane, but it was fun to see the answers you wrote in anyhow. I think I saw one team write that an epithalamium was the device by which they hoped I met my fate. Nice one guys!
Also, Eyad is back! If you dropped down to Pyro, I’m sure you saw him sharing the decks with Juan, as they rocked the 555 party down at Pyro, and kept people dancing and drinkin into the early hours. If not, next week you have another chance!

Categories – Celebrities playing political figures, Connections – Poker terms, Nick’s Bass music round, L to L, and another music round of course!
Winners - Kidneys Come and Go slammed the competition with a solid showing in all the rounds, including an amazing 8 for 11 on Nick’s bass music round, where as most the other teams averaged 2-3 points in that tough, but entertaining round. Southbound Pachyderm edged out Re-education Through Liquor by a single point for 2nd, and 4th place was just another single point behind RTL. Close and competitive game for sure!
Sample Question – (Celebrities playing political figures) In yet another movie where an actor plays a monarch from a country not their own, what actor played the king, in the 1999 movie, Anna and the King?

Lush Rush.. That time of the year when we turn all the dials to 11! Last night was no exception, and you guys rocked out in force! Tons of awesome teams, lots of new virgin quizzeteers, and so much energy and fun flowing around the room it was near impossible not to get caught up in the storm of entertainment that swept through. Two birthdays in the room as well, so here’s to hoping that Kristen and Clarissa (hope I got those right, it was really loud in there) had the best birthdays one could hope for and that their friends too extra special care of them!
Finally, to all of you that came out to experience and try our new 555 party, shoot us some feedback! I hope you all had an amazing time, supplied with tequila shots, draft beers, and GTs all for 5rmb, as well as slammin dance music from our DJs Juan and newcomer DJ Alex.
